On 8 November 2014, Professor Lü Peng gave a lecture entitled ‘Chinese Art Criticism in Historical Context’ at OCAT Library. The lecture covered the history of Chinese art criticism from before the founding of the People's Republic of China to the present day. The publisher has compiled and published the text of this lecture, which is characterised by historical analysis.
At the same time, it published the article ‘The Context of Contemporary Art in the New Century’ (by Lü Peng). This article sharply reveals the essence of contemporary art practice in the new century, and helps readers to look more deeply into the origins and flows of some superficial phenomena and movements without detaching them from their political and historical contexts.
