"The Story of ‘Art’ in China From Late Qing Dynasty to Present" condenses the key content from my authored and published "A History of Art in Twentieth - Century China (Revised Edition)" (2009). Given that the target audience comprises individuals with a general understanding of human civilization and knowledge, I confidently present the narrative of over a century of "fine arts" in such a concise format, catering to the sensibilities of readers rather than the in-depth requirements of scholars and researchers.
I adopt a storytelling approach to articulate how "fine arts" evolved, transformed, and branched out from the Opium War era to the present day. Through this method, I aim to stimulate readers' perception and intellect, prompting them to reexamine their views on "fine arts." This narrative adjustment encourages a reevaluation of general knowledge about art history, aligning one's knowledge system with the contemporary evolution of society.
