The title “Pure Views Remote From Streams And Mountains” was my doctoral thesis initially. The exhibition, formally titled 'Pure Views Remote From Streams And Mountains: New Painting From China,' opened on October 14, 2010, at the Louise Blouin Foundation in London, United Kingdom. I borrowed the title from the painting 'Pure Views of Streams and Mountains' by the artist Xia Gui, aiming to emphasize the necessity for contemporary Chinese art to pay greater attention to traditional Chinese culture.
“Pure Views Remote From Streams And Mountains: New Painting From China” was a large-scale exhibition showcasing over 80 works from accomplished Chinese artists and emerging talents. The exhibited works generally retained traditional Chinese values and cultural qualities, yet artists presented them in a 'contemporary manner.' This approach significantly influenced the recent developments in Chinese art and contributed to the global exchange of artistic ideas.
