Dr. Lü Peng(吕澎), Director of the Academic Committee of Chengdu Art Museum and Artistic Director of Chengdu Biennale, has been invited to serve as a judge for the 18th edition of the Arte Laguna Prize.

The Arte Laguna Prize, organized in collaboration between the Italian National Association of Modern and Contemporary Art (Cultural Association MoCA) and the Arte Laguna Prize Committee (Arte Laguna srl), aims to promote and elevate contemporary art. It focuses on visual arts, particularly painting, sculpture, photography, video art, performance, virtual, and digital art. The objective is to foster and support the development of artists and the art industry by providing various opportunities. It stands as one of the most comprehensive international annual events in contemporary art globally.

As an esteemed member of the international jury for this prestigious art prize, Dr. Lü Peng, together with distinguished judges from around the world, meticulously reviewed 25,610 entries from 86 countries through multiple rounds of rigorous selection. The jury has chosen 240 artists and designers as finalists, whose works will be showcased at the Arsenale of Venice from November 16th to December 8th, 2024.

On July 8th, Ms. Laura Gallon, the head of the Italian National Association of Modern and Contemporary Art, Chair of the Arte Laguna Prize, and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Italian Republic, along with Ambassador Mr. Yang Side, visited Chengdu Art Museum to meet Dr. Lü. Lü Peng presented Ms. Laura Gallon with his book "From San Servolo to Amalfi" and they took a commemorative photo together.
