The third installment of the global touring series exhibition, “Pure Views Remote From Streams And Mountains”, is hosted at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in Japan. Titled 'Pure Views Remote From Streams And Mountains - New Paintings From China: Traditions Reactivated,' the exhibition opened on January 2, 2013, and continued on February 24, 2013. Centered around the theme 'Pure Views Remote From Streams And Mountains,' it is because I draw upon the spirit encapsulated in the 13th-century Southern Song Dynasty painter Xia Gui's scroll, 'Pure Views of Streams and Mountains' as the conceptual foundation for the exhibition.
Focusing on nature and landscapes, the exhibition eliminates past political and ideological implications. Rooted in ancient Chinese traditional art, it aims to create a unique Chinese artistic style by tracing back to its origins, restoring its distinctive 'quality.'
