This exhibition is academically directed by Professor Lü Peng, with Wang Qianyu serving as project manager. It unfolds in three chapters: beginning with Our Generation, a seminal series from the 1980s featuring leading figures from the literary and art worlds—works widely recognized by the public; transitioning to a focused exploration of cultural personalities from the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region, including Zhou Xun, Chen Danqing, and the Suzhou Elegant Gathering; and concluding with a return to the locality of Xiao Quan’s practice. For the first time, the exhibition presents a series of color portraits of local residents in Moganshan, captured over several years. These images, rendered in the artist’s distinctive 2048 × 756 format, portray the everyday faces of an era amid the vitality of ordinary urban life.
