Amid the prevailing trend of societies, nations, corporations, and power groups seeking to establish "communities," individuals—particularly contemporary artists—are pursuing a more intimate sense of uniqueness to resist homogenization. Curator Lü Peng has brought together works by 11 artists or artist duos from diverse backgrounds within a limited space, including Ji Wenyu & Zhu Weibing, Li Jun, Li Yongzheng, Li Yu & Liu Bo, Shao Yinong & Mu Chen, Shi Zhan, Song Yongping, and Zhang Dali. This reconstruction of an artistic "community" prompts viewers to reflect on whether individuals, navigating the currents of globalization, can forge more complex and interwoven structures of connection. Centered on contemporary Chinese video art, the exhibition also explores the potential for innovative presentations through the integration of diverse visual art media.
