"Pure Views:Remote from Streams and Mountains Chinese Landscape Painting In 10th -13th Century" represents my doctoral thesis. The choice of "landscape painting during the 10th -13th Century" stems from both my personal affinity for this period's landscape art and a desire to explore the developmental journey of Chinese landscape painting. By elucidating the intrinsic logic of Chinese landscape painting within the realm of scholarly knowledge, I aim to fundamentally comprehend the uniqueness and richness of its visual language. This approach transcends a mere differentiation of Chinese "shan shui" and Western "landscape" based solely on formal distinctions, emphasizing a deeper understanding beyond simple visual experiences.
